Our stay in "The Nest" at the Pecan Tree Inn was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation in Texas. The Heaths ~ Brent, Teresa and Angela go the extra mile in every aspect of their B&B. Their attention to detail is unbelievable ~to name few... there are Heath candy bars on the bedside table, delectable pecan tassies on a doily under a glass dome greet you at the front door ~ saying "eat me now", miniature handmade soap wrapped in cute cellophane bags tied with ribbon plus all the other amenities grace the bathroom ~ I could go on and on!! The king size bed was beautiful as well as soooooooooo comfortable ~ the sheets were like silk! If cleanliness is next to Godliness the Pecan Tree Inn is as close to heaven as you'll ever get on earth!! Oh my goodness I haven't mentioned the breakfast yet... WOW where do I begin... let me tell you it's a 10 on a scale of 5! Again...no detail has been overlooked! Not only is it beautiful but delicious ~ the pecan praline crusted french toast, the steak interlaced with bacon kabobs and the orange mint smoothies were just a few of my favorites! The Heaths take hospitality to a new level – the divine! Every aspect of a stay at the Pecan Tree Inn is a delight, from your first phone conversation to every detail of your stay. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast – amazing! My husband has said he would pay the price of the stay just for the breakfast, so you get the picture : ) The surroundings are peaceful and inviting. The Pecan Tree Inn is great for women, couples, families, and even men, who may be taking a class at the nearby craft village or attending business in the Waco area. Much thought is given to prepare according to individual likes and desires. If you like coffee, expect an amazing cup. If you like hot tea, expect a fun variety. If you’re a man, expect a hearty breakfast fit for a king. We are return visitors to the Pecan Tree Inn and will continue to visit and to share the wonders of this place with others. Our week long stay couldn’t have been any better! Here are some of the reasons why we will be coming back: We really enjoyed seeing all the cardinals and your garden! A great night’s sleep, the bed was more comfortable than our bed at home! Our gourmet breakfast was incredible! Everything tasted as wonderful as it looked; the table was so beautiful that I had to take a photo before I could eat! This B&B is a couple minutes away from Homestead Heritage where we spent our week at a scheduled woodworking class, watching and talking with the sweet people and craftsmen at the Craft Village, enjoying delicious ice cream and our evening meals at the Homestead Café, shopping at the General Store & the “Barn” admiring all the fine crafts, & planning our next trip back to this great place! I've stayed in B&Bs before but this one takes the cake in "Service with a Smile". Teresa made our stay feel like "going home to mamma". She greeted us in the driveway and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was more than I expected and has raised the bar for all the B&Bs to come. I am looking to stay a couple days in Tyler, TX in the next week or so and just hope I can find a place and proprietor as lovely as the Pecan Tree Inn. Guest Stayed 11/2011
WOW!!! An absolutely amazing experience for my first stay in a B & B. The Nest is a beautifully appointed home away from home. The special little things the hosts provided made this an extra special place to relax. From the "welcome treat", the drinks in the fridge, the assortment of coffees and teas, sugars and creamers, the basket of items in the bathroom (they thought of everything in case you forgot), the extra towels, the most amazing homemade bar of soap, the candy, the closet of "extra linens", and last but not least, the deck. I cannot think of enough words to describe our innkeepers. Teresa is the most gracious woman that made us feel "at home". We spent a lot of time talking with her. She is the most amazing cook. Be prepared for the breakfast of a lifetime. Perfectly cooked, beautifully served). Angela, Brent, and Teresa are treasures and they make you feel "welcomed into their home". We stay at B&B's once in a while, I decided to try this because the motel pickings weren't so good and we were extremely pleased with the cleanliness and hospitality afforded to us! The rooms were very clean and loaded with extra treats and breakfast was quite haute! Guest Stayed 9/2011
Great place for a great price. I would have paid the same to stay at a hotel and wouldn't have had breakfast. Great beds and great hostesses. Breakfast was fantastic. We would start with a fruit, then a main course, then a fruit drink and a chocolate for dessert. We didn't eat lunch the whole time we were there. Guest Stayed 7/2011
Our family's week-long stay was wonderful beyond expectation! In addition to being comfortable, the inn was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The Heath's cheerfully accommodated our schedule. Each morning the formal dining table was arrayed in a new theme. What a great stay! The Cottage is spacious and very comfortable. This is the nicest and cleanest bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. After getting a great night's rest I was treated to a delicious breakfast of Huevos Rancheros. The steak melted in my mouth and food was so plentiful that it kept me until dinner time.
